This recipe is so, so easy to make, and so, so inexpensive. It uses fresh green beans, which you can buy for about $3 a pound, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, sugar, and garlic. Most of these ingredients, other than the green beans, are ones that many of us have on hand. This sauce is so good! I often substitute bok choy for the green beans, and it is excellent.
Pan Fried Green Beans

Equipment
- 1 frying pan
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp sesame oil
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 1 tsp sugar
- 2 tsp fresh garlic, minced
- 12-16 oz fresh green beans I am sure frozen would work too
Instructions
- Heat the sesame oil in the frying pan to medium heat
- Add the green beans and saute until some of the beans are blistered. Keep turning the beans in the pan to evenly cook them
- Add the garlic and saute 1 minute
- Turn to low heat and add the rest of the ingredients and stir to coat all the beans. Continue to saute about 1 more minute.
